DESCRIPTION OF PARK AVENUE SYNAGOGUE:

Park Avenue Synagogue (PAS) is one of the largest Conservative congregations in North
America. Located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the synagogue includes staff of more than
180 talented individuals, who together with our world-class clergy team, serve a membership of
over 1,800 households. Our thriving Adult Programming, Penn Family Early Childhood Center,
Congregational School, Youth, and Young Family Education departments provide high quality
and inclusive Jewish educational, social, and worship opportunities to our members and the
community at large.

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:

Reporting to the Director of Congregational School, the Administrative Assistant will support
the administrative function of the Congregational School programming. The ideal candidate is
passionate, detailed oriented and logistical- minded. The Administrative Assistant will thrive in
a fast-paced and dynamic environment, enjoy working on deadline-oriented tasks and
collaborating with PAS departmental partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General administrative tasks, including correspondence with members by phone and
email; managing departmental finances, scheduling, and general clerical tasks.
Oversee school registration process; manages and processes on-going student
registrations and applications.
Maintain data and SalesForce input for the Congregational School students and faculty.
Maintain and update electronic student records.
Oversees billing process for school registration.
Administrative liaison to prospective and current families.
Produce and update class lists, directories and faculty contact lists.
Liaise with part-time teachers regarding completion of timesheets. Submit timesheets to
payroll in accordance with Park Avenue Synagogue payroll principles.
Coordinate with Human Resources and Payroll regarding payroll issues.
Maintain electronic teacher personnel files on the department network drive.
Partner with the Assistant Directors on schedules for substitute teachers.
Administrative assistance with High Holiday youth programming, as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

2+ years’ experience of administrative or related experience preferred
Detail-oriented
Works collaboratively as part of a team
Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; additional computer skills,
knowledge of Zoom and Salesforce are a plus
Able to work in a dynamic environment with changing demands and expectations, and
flexible to new tasks
Resourceful and a self-starter
Open and receptive to ideas and feedback
Basic knowledge of Jewish holidays and customs a plus
4-Year Degree preferred
ANNUAL SALARY: $45,000.00
