Trust Relations is looking for an independent bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. You will be working as a remote Freelancer (1099 contractor), ideally have experience working for a startup agency, and have performed bookkeeping duties for companies in which contractors were part of the team.
-Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.
-Fully own invoicing clients/ensuring payment throughout the month and maintain an open line of communication with clients (phone and email).
-Maintain agency payroll to both full-time employees and contractors.
-Maintains historical records by filing documents.
-Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
-Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
-Handle month-end close process.
-Assist Operations team with light HR duties.
-Assist Finance Director with preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
-Assist Finance Director with providing insights to the owner on all budgeting and forecasting issues to ensure she can make informed business decisions regarding new hires, marketing spends, etc
-Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
-Perform both ongoing and ad-hoc projects as necessary.
-Must be highly skilled and ideally certified in QuickBooks Online
-Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Excel
-Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
-Must have the ability to work independently as well as with a team
-Must have the utmost integrity and understanding of confidentiality
-Must have a pleasant, professional demeanor in person and on the phone
-Accounting or Finance degree a plus
